Every year in the charming town of Cambridge, the holiday spirit magic comes alive. This year from Thursday, November 30th to Sunday, December 3rd, the community’s Christmas festivities will unfold.

Thursday night, November 30th, in Cambridge will kickstart the weekend with a jolly twist, as locals and visitors sport their quirkiest ugly sweaters while indulging in a festive shopping spree and holiday bites. Amidst the twinkle of holiday lights, the town’s streets become a runway for hilariously adorned sweaters, fostering a lighthearted spirit of competition and laughter. Look out for the shopkeepers as they join in the fun! This new tradition adds a unique touch of fun to kickstart Cambridge Christmas.
Thursday is set to ignite the weekend’s festivities with a lineup of exciting events in Cambridge all weekend. Studio 501 Photography will launch the much-anticipated annual gnome hunt, turning the town into a whimsical wonderland for all to explore. Meanwhile, the Cambridge Library invites families for a delightful story walk around downtown, and the Cambridge Market will host a Letters to Santa station, where wishes will be penned and holiday magic shared. Additionally, Premier Couture will provide a selfie station, adding a touch of glamour to the evening’s festivities.
Christmas magic continues Friday, Dec. 1st, with the Cookie Walk from 4 PM to 6 PM. Families gathered at Rowe Pottery to embark on a delightful journey through the main street businesses. Armed with empty cookie tins provided at Rowe Pottery, they visited participating businesses, collecting delicious homemade cookies to fill their tins. The event was not just about sweets; it was also about giving back to the community, as a portion of the proceeds went to the local food pantry and future Cambridge Area Business (CAB) events.
As the sun sets, the town’s residents and visitors gathered at the heart of Cambridge for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 PM, organized by the Lions Club, Cambridge Community Activities Program (CAP), and the Cambridge Fire Department. Children will be filled with excitement waiting for Santa to arrive on the Fire Truck while the CD Players sing carols enchanting the crowd with the holiday spirit.
Friday night continues, with Elf Shelf opening to spread Christmas cheer to all ages. Over at PLOW, John Scott Media has a delightful evening with S’mores and a fire. Across the street from the fire, Keystone will be hosting Dancing Goat as they serve their famous adult hot chocolates. Finish the night by checking out the light display at Lake Ripley Lights, illuminating the night from 5 PM to 10 PM nightly.
On Saturday, the festivities continued to unfold, promising even more joy and memories to be made. A beloved tradition, the Horse-Drawn Carriage ride, was set to enchant visitors from 10 AM to 1 PM. Caroling will be echoed through the streets on Saturday spreading musical cheer to all.
Saturday at Cambridge Christmas is a day filled with enchantment and festivities. Galleria 214 plays host to Santa Claus, who is around to hear your wishes and take a selfie between 10 AM and 1 PM, creating magical moments for visitors of all ages. Meanwhile, the Elf Shelf awaits shoppers of all ages, offering a delightful array of festive gifts and activities. Over at the Cambridge Market, a special treat is in store with Lefse Demos hosted by The Koshkonong Prairie Historical Society from 11 AM to 1 PM, providing not only a delicious taste of tradition but also a glimpse into the area’s rich history.
As evening approaches, The Art Hub will be ready to captivate art enthusiasts with an Afternoon Gallery Viewing, promising an inspiring artistic experience. Saturday evening, the town eagerly awaits for the grand Christmas Gala organized by CAP, where the night would be filled with lite bites and music. Beyond these business events, the town’s outdoor activities ensure that everyone can immerse themselves in the winter wonderland of Cambridge, whether through sledding, skating, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing.
On Sunday, families gathered at Cambridge Elementary School for a special Breakfast with Santa, creating cherished memories as they enjoyed a delicious meal and activities.
This delightful morning, local eateries open their doors, inviting residents and visitors to savor delectable brunch options while basking in the afterglow of the festive weekend. It was a wonderful way to wrap up Cambridge Christmas, leaving everyone with full hearts and bellies, and the spirit of the season lingering in the air.
